As a Paladin you can trade for most of the gear your build needs, including Charms and Seals. You cannot trade for Mythic Uniques, which are account-bound. The items worth buying are the pieces your build depends on and the rolls that are slow to farm yourself. The items worth selling are the strong drops that suit other classes. With 8 classes in the game, most of your loot will roll for someone else.

This guide covers how to spend gold well as a Paladin and how to turn your spare drops into more of it.

What Paladins Can and Cannot Trade

Lord of Hatred added the Paladin and the Warlock, which brought Diablo 4 to 8 classes. For trading, that means more demand for class-specific gear and a wider range of buyers for whatever you don't use.

The basic rules are the same for every class:

Item type Tradeable? What to know
Gold Yes The main currency for Diablo 4 trades
Uniques (non-Mythic) Usually Value depends on build demand and roll quality
Legendaries and rares Usually Only the strong rolls are worth listing
Charms Yes Priced by how well they fit popular builds
Seals Yes Same logic as Charms
Mythic Uniques No Account-bound for every class

"Usually" matters in that table. Not every item in these categories can be traded. Before you buy, have the seller show you the item in the trade window, and read the tooltip yourself. Before you list something, check that it can still be traded so you don't waste a buyer's time.

Buying Gear for a Paladin Build

The common mistake is spreading gold across every slot. A better plan is to work out which one or two pieces your build cannot function without, and spend most of your gold there.

A practical order for buying:

  1. The build-defining unique. If your build is centered on one item, buy it first. Everything else is filler until you have it.
  2. Weapon and main damage slots. These usually move your damage more than defensive slots do, so they are worth the extra gold.
  3. Hard-to-roll pieces. Some slots need several specific affixes at once. Self-farming those can take a long time, which is exactly when trading pays off.
  4. Charms and Seals that fit your setup. Covered in its own section below.
  5. Everything else. Defensive filler and easy rolls usually drop on their own while you play.

Timing affects price. When a class is new or gets attention in a season, many players roll it at once, and demand for its gear goes up. Paladin-specific uniques tend to cost more in the first weeks after players flock to the class and settle down later. If you aren't pushing for an early ranking, waiting a bit before buying the expensive pieces often saves gold.

Also, don't overpay for a perfect roll when a good one does the job. The jump from good to near-perfect usually costs much more than the jump from average to good, and the extra power is small.

Charms and Seals

Charms and Seals are tradeable in Diablo 4, and they are easy to overlook. Treat them like any other gear slot. Their value comes from whether the rolls suit a build people actually play.

For a Paladin, that works two ways:

When you price one, ask whether a player of the matching class would build around it. If they would, it sells. If it is a mixed bag of rolls no build wants, it probably won't sell at any price.

Selling What Your Paladin Doesn't Use

Most of your trade income will come from gear for other classes. The hard part is spotting it in a pile of drops, and a loot filter helps with that.

Diablo 4 has an in-game Loot Filter. Each filter holds up to 25 rules, and each rule can Show, Hide or Recolor items with a chosen color. Only one filter is active at a time, so a filter built for trading is worth setting up:

The Paladin filters on /loot-filters are a good starting point. Every filter page shows the decoded rule list, with each rule's name, mode and color. On PC you can copy the export code and paste it with Import in the Loot Filter menu. Consoles can't paste codes, so console players can use the rule list as a checklist and rebuild the rules by hand.

Once you're picking up the right items, sort them before listing:

  1. Uniques that a popular build for another class uses.
  2. Items with several useful affixes on the same piece.
  3. Charms and Seals that fit a common build.
  4. Everything else goes to salvage.

Don't hold items forever hoping for a top price. Demand moves with the season, and an item that sells well now may be worth much less once everyone has one.

Pricing Your Trades

There is no fixed price list in Diablo 4, so pricing comes down to research and judgment.

Start with the price index at /prices. It is a value reference: it tells you what an item is, whether it can be traded and what drives its value. Use it to understand why one roll is worth more than another. Don't treat it as a live market feed.

Then compare against what other players are asking for similar items. A few habits help:

For more on how pricing and trading work in general, see the trading guides.

You may also hear players weighing farming against buying. With the Season 14 boss ladder using Lair Keys, a lot of playtime goes into boss runs. If an hour of trading earns enough gold to buy what an hour of farming might drop, trading is the better use of your time.

Trading Safely

The habits that keep trades safe are the same on any site:

One rule has no exceptions. Buying or selling items or gold for real money breaks Blizzard's terms of use and can get your account actioned. Keep every trade in-game. This site's board supports in-game trades for gold, runes and items, and sticking to in-game trading helps keep your Paladin's account safe.

Frequently asked questions

Can a Paladin trade Mythic Uniques in Diablo 4?

No. Mythic Uniques are account-bound for every class, including Paladin. They cannot be bought, sold or traded, so ignore any listing that offers one.

Are Charms and Seals tradeable for Paladin builds?

Yes. Charms and Seals are tradeable in Diablo 4. Their value depends on whether the rolls suit a popular build, so a good fit for a Paladin setup can be worth buying, and one that suits another class is worth selling.

Where can I check what Paladin items are worth?

Use the Diablo Marketplace price index at /prices as a value reference. It explains what each item is, whether it trades and what drives its value. Then compare what other players are asking before you settle on a price.
